Love City Brewing opened its doors just 6 months ago in April 2018. Love City is the creation of Melissa and Kevin Walter, a longtime veteran of the Iron Hill brewpub chain. As one of the newest breweries in the Philadelphia area, we are quickly making a name with our accessible beers anchored by 3 flagships: Love City Lager, Unity IPA & Eraserhood NE IPA.

Part of Love City Brewing’s mission is to “love their city,” by giving back to the organizations that are addressing Philadelphia’s biggest issues. Every quarter, they brew a beer with a local nonprofit organization and donate a portion of sales. Earlier this year, Love City Brewing asked their social media followers to help choose their partner organizations for the inaugural year, and have brewed collaborative beers benefiting Pathways to Housing, What is Mindfulness and Least of our Brothers Homeless Outreach throughout 2018.

Coming at you straight out of Philadelphia, the Wissahickon Brewing Company traces its roots over nine years ago to a homebrewing kit gifted to Tim Gill, Sr by his oldest son, Tim, Jr. Homebrews gifted to family & friends quickly turned to competition entries and, eventually, medals! After nearly a decade of homebrew batches, experimentation, national awards and recipe perfection, the Gill family decided to make their dream a reality.

At Hot Rods & Hops, WBC will be pouring:

Ravenhill / American Porter / 5.9%. Brewed w/ chocolate malt, roasted barley & oats. Rich notes of dark chocolate, coffee, & plum in this classic American porter.

Buzzz’d (pictured at the top of the page)Wildflower Honey IPA / 7.5%. Brewed w/ pilsner malt, oats & 60lbs of Fruitwood Orchards wildflower honey. Hopped & dry hopped w/ Idaho 7. Notes of blueberry, pineapple, & orange zest. Smooth, refreshing, & a bit sweet.

Mad Princes is a 1/2 Barrel nano-brewery located in Buckingham, PA, coming up on our 3rd Anniversary in December. Some Fall beers we have in the works are Rauch Alt, Rye Saison, Paw Paw Pale Ale & Rum Barrel Aged Harvest Pumpkin. This is our second year doing the Hot Rods event and we love it! Our batches are so small that we won’t really know what we are bringing until the previous weekend… Prost!

Sounds fun, right? RIGHT.
