Craft Beer Spotlight – La Isla Uptown
After nearly 20 years of local cult status and high critical acclaim at a tiny location in downtown Hoboken, NJ, La Isla expanded into a brand new 100 seat space near the city’s uptown waterfront at the Maxwell Project in 2015.
With acclaimed Chef Owner Omar Giner at the helm in a state-of- the-art facility, La Isla Uptown aims to capture the character and charm of the original Cuban restaurant with the same sense of authenticity and high value in a setting that would be at home in South Beach.
The new restaurant also features a premium only full bar with over forty wines by the glass, a large selection of fine rums, original tropical cocktails and a dynamic offering of craft beers and spirits. You will very often see a Neshaminy Creek beer on tap here as seen below and also some rare specialty kegs.
With 12 tap lines focusing on local and north eastern breweries, as well as the finest imported and west coast beers making their occasional appearance, La Isla Uptown changes the expectations of what can be a craft beer establishment. Check out their website at http://www.laislarestaurant.com
