Craft Beer Spotlight: The Iron Oven

From Rising Sun Avenue to Street Road in Southampton is about a 30-minute drive; but, for Alex Nalbandian, it took him from childhood to owning his own restaurant. Working in his dad’s restaurant gave him the skills and knowledge to open The Iron Oven located at 1134 Street Road in Southampton.

Opened in early May of 2018, the bar has a nice selection of beers either on their 24-tap draft system or in cans or bottles. You will find a rotating selection of Neshaminy Creek beers available there. Two bars allow for plenty of space to sit and comfortably watch your favorite sport on one of the 21 large TVs from almost any seat in the restaurant. Large garage doors allow plenty of light into the interior and can be opened during warmer weather or those seasonally beautiful days that Pennsylvania enjoys during the year.

Food options range from appetizers, salads and soups to burgers, pizza and Stromboli. Desert and a kid’s menu allow for a variety of choices to satisfy almost any appetite. Try the Diablo Burger if you feel the need for something spicy and filling. The plentiful portion of fries and a pickle spear made it almost too much for me to finish this time. If you go on a Sunday, make sure you look at the brunch menu. Breakfast options include pancakes, waffles, breakfast pizza and egg dishes. Bloody Mary’s and cocktails to ease you into the rest of your Sunday activities. Open from 11am to 2am daily.
