Craft Beer Spotlight: Lucky’s Last Chance
With two locations in the Manayunk and Queen Village sections of Philadelphia, Lucky’s Last Chance is a vintage road trip-inspired beer and burger joint with a dash of punk rock flair. Lucky’s Last Chance has offered their patrons a stellar variety of craft beer along with some of the city’s finest burgers, hot dogs, and fried foods topped with out-of-this-world ingredients.
Before opening the bar, this group always enjoyed nerding out over craft beer. But prior to the “craft beer revolution”, it was hard to find bars that paired quality beer with comfort food in Philadelphia’s niche market. Fast forward seven years later, Lucky’s Last Chance has continuously offered an extensive selection of cans and bottles (including NCBC) along with unique taps that allow the staff to serve the freshest products and consistently update their tap list with different beer styles from different breweries. And if you’re looking for food, the folks at Lucky’s recommend menu staples like the Scorpion Dog (hot dog topped with mac & cheese and jalapenos), Junkyard Tots (tater tots topped with bacon, cheese, sour cream, and chives) and the infamous PB & Bacon Burger (peanut butter and bacon on a burger served with a side of jelly).
Neshaminy Creek plays a major role in Lucky’s Annual “Great Wiener Race”, where dachshunds are dressed up in hot dog costumes and compete in a series of races. The event benefits PAWS (Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society) and 100% of the proceeds raised from Neshaminy Creek beers that day benefit the organization.
