Craft Beer Spotlight: Yard House King of Prussia
The first Yard House opened in Long Beach, Ca in 1996. Since then, the company has added more than 70 locations in 24 states. Locations include some of my favorite cities such as Chicago, IL; Denver, CO; Portland, OR & Austin, TX. We’re fortunate to have local spots in King of Prussia and Moorestown, NJ.
The Yard House venue in King of Prussia opened in March 2017 with 130 beer taps. You can be assured that the variety is enough for even the most jaded beer nerd or a budding aficionado to find something to catch their beer eye. Permanent taps of local and national brands are available every day. If you happen to stop in during Happy Hour (3:30 to 6 pm) save $2 bucks on beer, wine and other libations. Enjoy half-priced appetizers ranging from nachos to pizza to dips, you’re going to find something to make the commute home bearable.
The regular menu offers some great options to choose from. Rest assured the burgers, street tacos, steaks, sandwiches, salads etc. will handle the hangriest member of your crew. Oktoberfest is here, grab a jumbo pretzel, some Currywurst poutine or my personal favorite… a double pork burger! Two pork patties on a pretzel bun, with bacon chips, cheese, spicy mustard plus arugula made this a stomach-pleasing hit. I washed it down with a Keep it on the D.L. Session IPA and I was ready to deal with the Schuylkill and the PA Turnpike rush hour traffic.
The Oktoberfest Celebration goes until October 28th. Grab a beer and some Schnitzel or Bavarian Pretzels and you’ll be saying “Prost” before you know it. If you’re feeling adventuresome, try a half-yard of your favorite local beer.
The Outside deck seats 119 while the restaurant seats 509 people. There’s plenty of TVs to see the game if people watching isn’t your thing. The Yard House motto is “We Always Go the Extra Yard” and, in my opinion, they do. See you there for a beer!
