Craft Beer Spotlight: Mac’s Tavern
Located at 220 Market Street in historic Old City Philadelphia, Mac’s Tavern is a tucked away gem that offers quality fare for the masses of tourists and locals alike. Whether you are seeking a high-end cocktail, a simple spot for lunch, or just a cold beer to enjoy with a local sporting event Mac’s has you covered. With an ever-rotating selection of craft beers on draft and in bottle, as well as a full bar with wine offerings, you are sure to find whatever suits your mood- including many Neshaminy Creek Brewing options.
In fact, Neshaminy Creek is Mac’s featured brewery of the month for July so you can stop in for a $4 pint of Keep it On the DL session IPA all day every day until August. Mac’s also has amazing Happy Hour specials Monday thru Friday from 4:30-6:30. You’ll find discounted apps, beers, wine and cocktails to help you unwind from your work grind. If your belly is rumbling you can find plenty of well-crafted pub fare from salads, to burgers, and the unmissable Pretzel crusted chicken fingers.
Perhaps one of Mac’s most distinguishing traits is the ownership group, which consists of two “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” cast members, Rob and Kaitlin McElhenney. The bar is adorned with many pictures of the “Gang” and helps to cultivate the true Philly feel. Don’t be fooled though, Mac’s is a long way from Paddy’s pub depicted on the show, with a knowledgeable friendly staff that keeps you coming back.
