Craft Beer Spotlight: Strangelove’s

Located at 216 S. 11th Street between Locust and Walnut streets in Center City Philadelphia, Strangelove’s is a craft beer lovers dream with a dynamite food menu to match.   Owned by Leah Maida, Brendan Hartranft, and Brendan Kelly (also owners of Local 44, and Clarkville in West Philly) they take their tagline ‘Purveyors of Fine Craft beer” seriously.  With some of the greatest and latest craft beers and breweries available on draft and in bottle, there is also a full bar and selection of quality draft wines.

With the kitchen headed by Executive Chef Wayne Whiteside guests are provided with upscale pub fare ranging from Kielbasa Corn Dogs to a Mid-Winter Brisket Platter, with many vegan and vegetarian options also available. Strangelove’s is an ideal environment for catching up with a friend over a beer, hosting a large event, or impressing a first date.  Need a beer after work? Happy Hour runs 5pm-7pm Mondays thru Fridays featuring discounted snack and drinks. You can also highlight your weekend with brunch offered from 11am-3pm Saturday and Sunday, as well as a late night Happy Hour Sundays from 8pm-12am.

Even with all that going on Strangelove’s still finds ways to give back to the community frequently hosting events for local artists, breweries, and other philanthropic ventures. Saturday, March 31st from 12pm-4pm Strangelove’s will be hosting an Art and Beer show featuring Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company beers and artwork from NCBC’s own JP Flexner, as well as work from Adam Herndon, and Erin Wrench. Come enjoy a beer and some art with us at this fine establishment.
