Craft Beer Spotlight: La Isla Uptown
After nearly 20 years of local cult status and high critical acclaim at a tiny location in downtown Hoboken, NJ, La Isla expanded into a brand new 100 seat space near the city’s uptown waterfront at the Maxwell Project in 2015.
With acclaimed Chef and Owner Omar Giner at the helm in a state-of-the-art facility, La Isla Uptown aims to capture the character and charm of the original Cuban restaurant with the same sense of authenticity and high value in a setting that would be at home in South Beach.
The new restaurant also features a premium only full bar with over forty wines by the glass, a large selection of fine whiskeys, rums, original tropical cocktails, and a dynamic offering of craft beers.
Neshaminy Creek Trauger Pilsner, as well as a rotating seasonal specialty, will always be available amongst the 12 taps focusing on local and northeastern breweries. La Isla Uptown challenges the status quo of what a craft beer bar could be.
