Craft Beer Spotlight: Zeno’s Pub

Zeno's 2

Located directly above the center of the earth at the most iconic street corner in State College (directly underneath the Corner Room, Allen Street Grill, Hotel State College), Zeno’s Pub has been a State College institution since 1972.  When it comes to craft beer in the Centre Region, Zeno’s is where it all began.

Manager Dave Staab (seen below) has been involved with Zeno’s or the parent company Hotel State College since 1984 and is the bar’s manager to this very day.

For years, regulars have been issued ‘Beer Passports’ and you could “travel around the world in 80 beers.”
You still can get a Zeno’s Passport and keep track of your beers/countries to this very day.
They’ve been known for holding some amazing events in the past, including Firkin Week, all day Saturday beer festivals, Belgian beers week, etc.

Countless members of Neshaminy Creek Brewing Co. have ‘cut their teeth’ on craft beer at this bar while attending, or visiting, PSU.

NCBC beers can be found at Zeno’s in either can, draft, and our bombers are a staple at the bar.

Noted beer enthusiast Michael Jackson has been to (end thoroughly enjoyed) Zeno’s.  Dave has actually had pints with him.

Zeno’s has also received many awards over the years, including College Bar of the Month by Playboy Magazine,
one of Men’s Health’s Top 20 College Bars in 2012, and countless other honors for the Pub, and Dave Staab, alike.

ZenosTakeover
NCBC‘s own Josh Wilson will be at Zeno’s this Saturday, March 25th, for a Tap Takeover event, including some of NCBC’s BIGGEST Beers, including:
-Mudbank Milk Stout
-Coconut Mudbank Milk Stout
-Leon Russian Imperial Stout
-The Shape of Hops to Come
-A Good Problem To Have (EXTREMELY fresh, having been kegged just last week, and is the first place to tap it this year in Central, PA)
-a pin-sized firkin of J.A.W.N. with Blood Orange and El Dorado Hops.
